With our help, Mike Rose of Omega Plastics, an ambitious toolmaker who began his business in his garage and 10 years later moved into a 70,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, increased sales by 33 percent last year, and he’s just getting warmed up.

To be sure, the plastics industry is facing some serious threats in what has become an extremely competitive global marketplace. But Mike believes in the power of persistence and in taking advantage of every resource at his disposal. That’s where Decision Associates came in.

Mike asked us to take a look at his business with an eye toward growth. Because his company can make prototype parts for the security, medical, consumer packaging, automotive, and safety products industries faster than almost anybody, Mike has a leg up on foreign competition. Speed and customer service have earned him a loyal following. Capitalizing on these and other strategic advantages quickly became the focus of his five-year plan.

In order to prepare and manage the growth that would surely follow, Mike needed to make significant investments in buildings, technology and people. We were confident the plan would produce results, we just didn’t realize how soon. Mike has already surpassed his five-year projections, two years ahead of schedule. Time to retool?
